These are some pictures of my Honda S2000. On Jan 25th 2007 I took my beautiful Honda S2000 to Beach Honda in North Miami Beach to have a transmission issue diagnosed. I received a voicemail from the technician at the dealership asking me to call the dealership. I did so and was informed by the tech that while driving the car he had crashed it.
My first assumption was that maybe he had had a minor scrape with another vehicle. I went in to the dealership to view the damage and I was literally left speechless by what I saw. My car was a wreck. From an immediate visual assessment I could see both airbags were deployed, the passenger-side fender was mangled so as to be almost completely removed. Passenger-side headlight assembly and that half of the front bumper gone, the passenger-side front tire was obliterated; the rim bent and it appeared that the control arm was snapped. The hood could not be opened, and the passenger-side rear tire appeared to have some scuff marks present.
I began to speak with the tech and he immediately began to assert that the car was not totaled and that I did not need to get any other parties involved because Beach Honda was going to fix the car. I spoke to the service director and emphasized that I did not believe that repair of the car was possible, also even if they were in some way able to make it look as it did before it would never perform as it did before and that I absolutely did not want it back. I asked them not to touch the car until I spoke to them further.
I spoke to the acting General Manager to try to get some resolution and we are still in the process of working out some form of compensation with their insurance company. I also have gotten a copy of the police report and visited the accident site and from speaking to the tech the only conclusion that can be drawn is that due to the inexcusable reckless behavior of this individual (who represents the Honda Motor Co.) my car was destroyed. It seems that while turning a corner on a green light this individual was going so fast that he lost control of the car, jumped the curb crossed the sidewalk and smashed into a concrete wall. Luckily there was no one standing on the sidewalk at the time. Subsequent to this I had the car removed from the dealership's lot, and taken to another dealership to asses the damage. Beach Honda told me that they would no longer be responsible if i took the car off the lot, and they stopped paying for my rental, so I had to take over rental coverage out of my pocket after they wrecked my car. My insurance had to pay for the repairs which included damage to the frame. I now have the car back and since I've been driving it I am not comfortable knowing that it was in such a big accident through no fault of my own. This dealership offered me 2500 dollars as compensation and they gave me a deadline to accept or they would retract the offer. I did not accept their offer and they are now saying that they don't owe me anything. More details of my 6month ordeal are posted on the s2ki.com website.
